So Idk if this is a normal noise but I just now noticed it...

After I drive my car and go to turn it off, right after its off it makes a loud noise that sounds like a marble being dropped into the engine bay.. it like bounces. It only happens if the car is warm and been driven, no noise If I just turn it on then off.

It sounds a lot different than parts cooling after a drive because its consistent and always at the same time after turning off.

I just turned past 17,000 miles.

maybe a heatshield hitting the engine? Or the exhaust? Are you sure it's in the engine? Try and replicate it with the hood up and have a friend shut it off to figure out where the noise is

Its definately from the front end, I will have a friend turn it off and I'll take a video.

Once I had a section of my wiring harness with a plug dangling into my cooling fan. Made a somewhat similar noise. But you're only at 17k, I think a visit to the dealer is in order. Gotta love those warranties!

It's probably one of the shields in there. I had one come loose near the fender on my GTI and had the same sort of noise. Take it in for warranty and let 'em have at it!

The noise is caused by totally dropping the design ball with the New Beetle.

I did not mean to offend, by the way ... I just feel that they could have made more of an effort here; the "New Bettle" didn't age badly at all if you ask me, and I would have liked to see something just as low-key again.

The DRLs on the Bettle give me the most yuck of all the VW cars.

I think its come along way, Have you seen the current beetle with the Factory HID senons? love the DRLs.

I'm working now to get a set.

Hm ... we must agree to disagree then, as these are exactly the DRLs I mean. :p

Don't you think that a treatment à la Porsche (think quad/square look) would have worked better than the ... bow?
